Angela Pascoe Obituary

Angela Grace Brockles Pascoe born October 20, 1924, to Basil A. "Bill" and Abbie D. Brockles in Dallas, Texas, and borne December 13, 2013 into eternal life in God's embrace. A 1942 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, and a 1946 graduate of Baylor University, Grace met and ultimately married H.T. Tom Pascoe, an officer in the Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force, 357th Fighter Group, whom she met in Georgia, at Turner Army Air Base, Bill, had sent her to "chaperone" her older brother, Basil, Jr., a colleague of Tom's. Grace married Tom on May 5, 1949, in Dallas. Grace devoted her life to God, to knowledge, to her husband, Tom Pascoe, and to her children, Laura, William, and Barbara. She worked as a full time military wife, mother, and household manager until Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967. Then she put her college education to work for H & R Block in Tucson, Arizona, for 29 years, managing the Sears Park Mall office for over ten years. Retiring in 1996, she turned more of her attention to her Christian worship, and volunteered more at Desert Skies United Methodist Church in Tucson. True to her given name, and throughout her life, Grace was an angel right here on Earth. She always focused on peacemaking and understanding the other person. She was a sounding board for her friends and family for the troubles that they may be experiencing. Strangers to her, upon meeting her for only a few minutes, have told her family that she is an angel. Her family already knew this to be true. Grace was the definitive example of unconditional love. Grace will be sorely missed by all. Grace was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sisters Georgene Griffin (Bobby), Elaine Doty (EV), her husband, Herschel Thomas Pascoe, her brother, Basil A. Brockles Jr., and his wife Lois Elizabeth, as well as four nephews. She is survived by her daughters Laura Pascoe, Barbara Russ (Tom), and son William Pascoe, and sister, Connie McNabb (Ivy). She is also survived by her grandson, Michael Russ (Becky), and great grandchildren Abagail Russ, Dylan Thropp, and Daysha Sossaman, along with generations of nieces and nephews in Arizona, Texas, and Louisiana. Grace is also survived by her wonderful caregiving family at Plum Tree residence in Tucson, to whom her family is grateful beyond words. Grace's family and friends will gather to celebrate her life 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at EAST LAWN PALMS, 5801 East Grant Road, in Tucson, Arizona. My mother, Gynelle Alston Bowers, was first cousins with Grace. Mother always admired and adored her cousin. I wish I had had the opportunity to spend as much time with your mom and our moms spent together. I then would also have known her better, and in so doing, also have gotten to know your branch of our family tree better. I remember when you all visited Texas and we did get to spend some "cousin time" together. Though time has dimmed the finer points of the memories, I definitely remember my pleasure at meeting Grace and her children, my third cousins, Laura, Barbara, and Fred. I know you will miss your Mom, as my family now misses ours. You have been in my thoughts since the day I heard of Grace's passing. Love to you all. Gayle Bowers Kneupper

My heart goes out to you. Having lost my mom in April, I know how challenging it all is. I sure remember Grace from the Tucson of the fifties when we were all kids. She was a sweetheart.

Fred, Laura and Barbara - I loved your mother, my aunt, as I love you all. She was a fine and beautiful woman - no one could resist her charm and she was loved by all. I pray that you all find peace in the knowledge that our Lord has Grace in His fold now. I also pray that He comfort you as you grieve.

Love my Aunt Grace! What a warm, sweet and wonderful woman she was. I will never forget her beautiful smile with red lipstick...and those Brockles hands and white hair. 'Grace' is the perfect name to describe her too.

Grace was a lovely and wonderful lady. I first met Grace in 1943 when I came to Dallas on vacation. After meeting her I felt that I had known forever.

May her memory be eternal. My prayers are with you.

Chrisanthy Brockles,
