For those who were not able to attend Mason's memorial, you will be pleased to know that there were over 200 people there to celebrate Mason and his wonderful talent. The stories we heard were by turns hilarious and tearful. Mason was an amazing person, but also very troubled in the recent past. Please, if you or someone you know is having trouble coping with life, or in trouble with drugs or alcohol, know that you are absolutely not alone. More importantly, there is help out there if only you seek it out. No matter what you think there are people who love you, and want you to be safe. Mason was surrounded by people who loved him and tried hard to get him help, and we still lost him. If you are in trouble, please honor Mason's memory, and yourself by seeking the help he was unable to accept, and choose life. If we take away anything from this tragic loss, let it be to choose love over fear. I knew Mason from when he was a toddler and he was such a hoot. He could also drive us crazy one minute, and have us in stitches the next. As I told his Aunt Suzanne and Grandma Thelma. Mason drove us around the bend, and when we got there, he was invariably doing something to make us laugh. I loved this child so very much and I will miss him terribly. I wish so much I had seen him and kept in touch with him and Cynthia, Scarlett, Rhiannon, Bill, Thelma, Donald, Steve and the entire extended family. They are a lovely treasure and I miss them a great deal. They were my family when I needed one most and I am grateful to have known them all.

To the family of Mason, my deepest condolences. To the friends of Mason, especially Joseph Romero, I know how hard it is to lose a good friend. The pain is beyond belief and it takes a long time to heal...cherish the memories, the good times, and be thankful you had the pleasure of having him in your life if only for a short time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I consider myself fortunate that I got to know Mason, if only for one short year in Senior English though the Humanities. He was a vital member of a very special class of bright young minds. His quick wit, contagious laugh, and astuteness, brought people to him, like bees to honey. Throughout the past four years, when I’ve heard a political remark or a comment on music, it has often brought forth to my mind a flood of similar episodes from that year, where Mason shared his comments on the subject. The world has lost a treasure.

Mason you will be missed. Your humorous and witty gestures always made me know how special you were. Full of energy and ideas too soon for this generation. You were ahead of your time. You were my Nephew that I really never knew but you always took time to enteract with me when I was a School Resource Officer at Flowing Wells High School. You made me proud. I will remember you always,
Love,

Mason,
You were truly a wonderful and talented person. I can still remember going to watch a fantastic choir performance of Bohemian Rhapsody from when you were in Jr High! I also remember when my sister would have "parties" and you always brought your guitar, ready to entertain anyone who would listen. We now will miss you here on earth, but I know you are shining bright up in heaven.

Cynthia,
I am so sorry to hear the tragic news about Mason. My heart goes out to your for your precious loss. I too, understand the unbearable pain of losing a son. The overwhelming emotions! The unanswered questions! But, remembering all the wonderful times you shared together living, can give you some small comfort thru the difficult times. And most of all, may the God of Love, sustain and strengthen you with His promise of HOPE for the future. When He will soon end all sickness, suffering and death! Hope will not take away your pain, but it will enable you to cope day by day.

I knew Mason since he was a toddler, zipping through life without a backward glance. Our paths crossed but briefly, and I wish I'd kept up with him better. Such as it was I knew he was destined for great things, and his death rocked me to my core. The second child I've known to be lost so young, but no less tragically. I will always remember his sense of humor, his refusal to be anyone but himself, never changing to please others, but true to himself, always and forever. Look up at the sky, there's a new star shining. Too soon gone, too soon gone.

mason was a really cool kid! i didn't hang out with him much if it all but i remember classes i had with him, i remember junior high when i met him, then all the way up to senior year. its weird, i saw him at walmart like, less than a week before he passed and when i found out i was like "woah". mason always had a certain presence about him, when he was walking around campus, he was so goofy and friendly to everyone, i am lucky to have gotten the chance to know him, and will always miss him even if he and i werent close because thats the kind of impact he had on everyone. i hope hes up there chilling with God and watching down on us, and still laughing with us even if it's only in spirit, and be supportive in our down days even if hes not really there, he will definitely always be in the hearts of his friends and family. he is truly a star. rest in peace mason, this is not a goodbye, just a see you later!

I will always remember Mason as one of the two princes in the musical I directed at flowing wells Jh. As soon as I heard about his tragic death I put on the video of Into the Woods to watch him center stage. Singing and acting like a pro. Mason was a person I will always remember for his kind spirit, talent and smile. I ran into him from time to time and it was always great to see him. I will miss him.

Mason rocked I went to flowing wells while he was there I remember being a freshman and just seeing him always so happy and carefree I went to a private school before flowing wells so I didn't know anybody and was very quiet but when I saw how mason acted I realized I wanted to be just like that I joined Chole tried out for solos and discovered who I was and was not afraid of what people thought about me. I talked to mason only but 5 times yet just that made an impact and now I really wish even more he knew and I was even better friends with him
