Sue Sudduth Pool

TUSCALOOSA | Sue Sudduth Pool, age 99, of Tuscaloosa entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 1, 2015 at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m. The service will be led by Reverend Tim Tindle and Reverend Chris Waddell. Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Pool; her parents, Joe M. Sudduth, Bessie Ray Sudduth and step-mother Edith Sudduth; five sisters; seven brothers and one step-brother.
Survivors are children, Barbara Pool Fields (Irvin), Cynthia
Pool Wilson (Mike), Donald Pool (Dorothy); and step-sister, Margaret Hughes of Greenwood, Mississippi; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Carroll County, Mississippi, Sue didn't know until later in life that she was descended from a pioneer Tuscaloosa County family. Sue and J. C. moved to Tuscaloosa in 1951 from Columbus, Mississippi. She retired from the University of Alabama Student Health Center. She and J. C. had been long time members of Southside Baptist Church and were charter members of Indian Lake Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Indian Lake Baptist Church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church and employees and residents of Pine Valley Retirement Community.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Northport Medical Center Rehab, Forest Manor Rehab, Hospice of West Alabama and the Knoll at Pine Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Indian Lake Baptist Church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, Gideon International or Hospice of West Alabama.
