I worked for Bob at Metro Paper on Hennepin in the early 80's when it was a four man operation. It was one of the greatest jobs I ever had and Bob was the greatest boss.
Truly a great man and a fun guy to be around. Working in that dark dank falling down basement was really one of the highlights of my working years.
Bob was overly generous to all the crew and always good for a couple of pitchers after work upstairs in the 24.
It was a pleasure and honor to know and work for Bob.

Wow....it's been a year already! Bob we miss you dearly but all your memories still live on...we had a great time last night telling your Beethoven joke. Janet even told us something about you we didn't know and if you were here Id get you! :) p.s. I got married last month and you were there in spirit! The caribbean waters were your favorite blue . We wore our Bob pins fondly and Janet gave a speech that will never be forgotten....You are loved by so many and I can't wait to see you again!

Bob befriended me when I was down...
He will always be remembered fondly.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. I John 4:16,21

I drove truck for Bob when Metro Paper Recovery was located off of Hennepin Ave and 1st Street North in Minneapolis. He was such a great man to work for. All the guys would be done working at 3:30pm and head up to the "24 on the Ave" bar for an after work beer. Bob would always stop in before heading home and buy his guys a round of beers telling them what a great job they do. Who would even do that nowadays?
May you rest in peace Bob and god bless
your family.

to the Hagen Family –
I got glimpses of Bob at our annual Pacer luncheons...didn't know him well, but couldn't miss a sense of humor. It is not possible to be in your home and not admire the work and love put into family...the story is in the pictures. I am sorry for the loss of your husband and father.

They say it takes a village to raise a child...Bob was a part of my village. He was just like a dad to me. He use to always say he was going to walk me down the aisle.... Always encouraging and telling me he was proud of me as I turned from a child into an adult. Nobody could tell a joke like Bob...even if he told me the same joke over and over 1,000 times...each time was funnier than the first time. My trips home to Minnesota will not be the same without my trips to see Bob. Oh how he will be missed, but will forever hold a special place in my heart. Love you Bob!

Bob accomplished so much in his lifetime. The biggest accomplishment was that he and Janet raised 4 amazing kids into incredible, caring adults.
