Kimberly Bloomstrom Obituary

Age 50 Of Walker, Minnesota Passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 at her home. Kim was born March 3, 1960 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Willard and Marie (Sadowski) Parenteau. She grew up in North St. Paul, graduating from North St. Paul High School in 1978. Following High School she worked various clerical jobs and met Greg Bloomstrom while working as the secretary for the Parks and Recreation Director in Oakdale. They were married March 2, 1984 in Stillwater, Minnesota and spent the next few years living in the St. Paul suburban area, Wisconsin, and Silver Bay, Minnesota prior to moving to Walker, Minnesota which they have called home since 1997. Besides being a mother and grandmother, Kim was employed by the Department of Corrections as an Office Specialist. Kim enjoyed camping, travelling, gardening, reading, crocheting, and living life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Because family was always most important to her, she was diligent in attending her daughters sporting events, and volunteered many hours at church and school. Kim had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh and have fun with friends and family. Her desire was to see others happy and enjoy special times together. Kim will be remembered for her warm, unselfish spirit, and deep spiritual strength. Kim is survived by her husband Greg of Walker, MN; daughters; Jennifer, and fiancé Adam Jackson, Jaime (Aaron) Couch, Jillie, Jaclyn, and step-daughter, Rachel (Scott) Peters, granddaughters; Mailena and Myla Couch, and Mia Jackson, parents; Willard and Marie Parenteau, siblings; Carol (Harry) Schulz, Jody (Mark) Falteisek, Renee (Tom) Mechelke, Bill (Rita) Parenteau, Scott (Kari) Parenteau, Tom (Shellee) Parenteau, Jim Parenteau, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by a baby brother, Daniel Parenteau, and grandmother, Verona Kotrba. Funeral services Thurs. May 6, 2010 at 3 PM at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker with Rev. Philip Larsen officiating. Visitation Wed. May 5, 2010 from 4-8 PM at the Dennis Funeral Home in Walker and 1 hour prior to services at church. I'm sorry to hear of Kims passing...my thoughts and prayers go out to Bill and Marie, Kims family and all of her siblings. I have just learned of her passing from my sister Karen (Anderson) Forsythe. Would have made the trip for her service, very sorry I missed it. It's been 30+ years since I've seen most of the Parenteau "kids" from the 2nd Ave neighborehood. May God Bless you all.

Kim & I grew up together in NSP for several of our young years, she was sweet then and sounds like she became a wonderful woman. I am very sorry for your loss of such a vibrant warm lady so young.

May God bless and give you comfort at this time.

I'm one of Kim's cousins and have known her parents Bill and Marie all my life. My father Jerome and Bill were close friends. I remember Kim when she was a young girl. She was fun to be around.

We were so sorry to hear about Kim's passing. Kim and I worked together at North Shore Credit Union in Silver Bay in the late 90's. She was fun to work with and such a nice friend. She will surely be missed.

Kim and I worked together at the City of Oakdale in the Community Services Department. I had the priviledge to work with her for 7 years and I must say that she was a joy to be around and to work with. Kim had such an easy going demeanor, a wonderful sense of humor and an outgoing personality. I am so glad she was part of my life. My sympathies and prayers to her family.

I was so sorry to hear of Kim's passing. I grew up one block over from the Parenteau's. Kim was always a real sweetie. My sympathies to the Bloomstrom family and to the Parenteau's...

When I started at the City of Oakdale in 1981, I had the honor of meeting Kim. She was so easy-going and outgoing and we quickly became friends. I'll never forgot her wonderful sense of humor, smile, and that devilish laugh. When she left the city for another adventure, we lost touch, but the fact that she touched my life will stay with me forever. I'm so glad I got to know her. Love and prayers to her family.
