Warren Baker Obituary

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. - Warren B. Baker, 85, formerly of Goffstown and Londonderry, N.H., died peacefully June 24, 2011, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Wakefield, Mass., Jan. 29, 1926, to Warren and Lavera (Olivier) Baker.

He was a 1943 graduate of Wakefield High School.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was married to Marie A. Baker for 54 years until her death in 2000.

Prior to his retirement he was president and owner of Pitcher Associates, Inc. of Goffstown and Derry. He was active in Goffstown on the high school building committee, a referee for Babe Ruth baseball, and a member and president of the Lions Club. He was also a member and president of the New Hampshire Associated General Contractors. He enjoyed tennis and summers at the family lake house in Maidstone, Vt.

Family members include his wife, Elizabeth H. (Smith) of Fruitland Park; daughters, Meredith MacAskill of Hooksett, N.H., Patricia Trottier of Lancaster, N.H., and Janice and her husband Bruce Barker of Stratham, N.H.; grandchildren Amanda (Mark) Price of Maynard, Mass., and Amy Clark of Holyoke, Mass.; two great-grandsons, Willem and Finnian Price; a stepdaughter, Cindy (Richard) Simon, a stepson Don (Jean) Smith and step great-grandson, Jason Curtis; sister, Phyllis Schelske of Florida and brother, Robert Baker of Texas. He was predeceased by a sister, Midge Court and a son-in-law, Nelson MacAskill.

SERVICES: A private family memorial service will take place at a later date at Maidstone, Vt. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.

Many of my childhood memories are in the home of the Baker family in Goffstown where Warren was a wonderful father and husband. He was always a gentleman and always kind. I know he will be greatly missed by his family. God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
