Robert Pollinger Obituary

FREMONT -- Robert J. Pollinger, 82, died July 20, 2010, at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass., after a lengthy illness.

He was born May 23, 1928, in Lowell, Mass., to Charles and Aldea (Roy) Pollinger.

Formerly of Lowell and Tewksbury, Mass., he lived in Fremont for more than 35 years. He was employed for more than 30 years as a foreman at Raytheon in Lowell and Andover, Mass., before retiring in 1982.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In the summer he lived in Vermont on Lake Champlain.

He was predeceased by his wife Anna (Gath) Pollinger who died in 1992 and a son, Donald Pollinger who died in 1985.

IN HIS LIFE: He was also predeceased by a brother, George Pollinger and two sisters, Claire Connors and Bernadette Beaudoin. He is survived by three sons, Robert and wife Constance Pollinger of Fremont and Richard and wife Debra Pollinger, of Fremont, and Charles Pollinger of New York; five daughters, Sandra and husband Joseph Kealy of Pepperell, Mass., Patricia and husband Edward Witkum of Westford, Mass., Gail and husband Robert Theriault of Lowell, Mass., Alice and husband Clifford Westland of Chelmsford, Mass., and Debra Pollinger and partner Michelle Bessette of Lowell, Mass.; 22 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his former wife Alice (Gath) Pollinger.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond. Private family services will be Friday. Burial will be in Village Cemetery, Fremont.
