Roger Groux Obituary

MANCHESTER - Roger G. Groux, 86, died Dec. 31, 2011, at the Arbors of Bedford after a long illness.

He was born in Manchester on Aug. 24, 1925, the son of Donat A. and Blanche (Ouellette) Groux.

He retired from the U.S. Navy as chief hull maintenance technician after 30 years of service.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Lina (Letendre) Groux, on April 15, 1995.

Members of his family include his wife, Rachel (Bourque) Groux of Manchester; one son, Roger C. Groux of Portsmouth; a granddaughter, Margaux Groux; one sister, Annette Provencher of Deerfield; a stepdaughter, Susan R. Patten of Pembroke; and a stepson, Roland Metivier of Washington, Vt.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. during the calling hours. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Arbors of Bedford, 70 Hawthorne Drive, Bedford, NH 03110, or to VNA Home Health and Hospice Services, 31 N. Commercial St., Suite 401, Manchester, NH 03101.

As an uncle(mon oncle Roger)was always one of my favorite relatives. I followed his Navy travels all of his life. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Theresa Groux...daughter of Uncle Roger's brother Robert. Bye Mon Oncle.
