Linda Schachtler Vesley, 48, of Trumansburg, NY, formerly of Clinton, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at her parents' home in Clinton, after a long illness. Linda was born on December 27, 1963, in Hilversum, Holland, the daughter of Fred and Carolina (Lam) Schachtler. She was raised and educated in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School, Class of 1982. In 1983, Linda married Ken Green. The couple made their home in Clinton and had two daughters. In 2007, Linda married Scott Vesley. She then made her home in Trumansburg. Linda was of the Catholic faith. Linda is survived by her husband, Scott Vesley, Trumansburg; two daughters, Danielle Green, Whitesboro, and Nicole Green, Clinton; a granddaughter, Kara Young; her parents, Fred and Carolina Schachtler, Clinton; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Theresa Schachtler, Utica; two stepdaughters, Tracy Vesley and Heather Vesley, Trumansburg; a stepson, Sean Vesley, Trumansburg; her uncle and aunt, Kurt and Kay Schachtler, Waterville; as well as by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Holland. Mrs. Vesley's funeral service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 10 East Park Row, Clinton. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Kirkland. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-7 p.m. The Helmuth-Ingalls American Legion Post #232 will meet at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Those wishing may donate to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., in Linda's memory. Linda's family would like to offer a special thanks to Martha Bondy, a dear family friend, for her help and compassion, especially during this difficult time. Linda you have been in my life since I was 12 years old! You have watched and helped me get through some rough times as a teen and grow into a hardworking and respectable young women. You have had a huge impact on my life and the way I do things. It's so hard to believe your actually gone but you will live through all of us forever. I will never forget all of our memeries we had together. I love you so much and I wish I told you that more! Thank you for coming into my life and being my mom. I know it wasn't easy ;).
