Jeffrey Filipkowski Obituary

Jeffrey
Filipkowski
UTICA
Mr. Jeffrey "Jeff" Filipkowski, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Mohawk Valley Health Systems @ St. Luke's Hospital with his family by his side. Born in New Hartford on July 25, 1966, Jeffrey was the son of Sarah M. "Sally" (Osborne) Filipkowski and the late Joseph J. Filipkowski, Sr. He was raised and educated in Utica, a graduate of JFK High School/Class of 1984. Jeff worked in his vocation as a master carpenter with Carpenters Union Local #277. Blessed with a soft heart and sensitive spirit, Jeff could be characterized as a 'gentle giant', a man who helped everyone in his circle of life. He cherished all God's animals, especially his dog, Ginger. He enjoyed cooking for his loved ones, taking road trips on his Harley, fishing, hunting, and camping. He practiced his Catholic faith and believed in its Holy Scripture. Jeff is survived by his mother, Sally; his fiancee, Tania Zenzillo and her children, Shaina Pritchard and Melissa Zenzillo; and his brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph J. Filipkowski, Jr., of TX, and James "Jim" and Erica Filipkowski of Whitesboro. He will also be missed by his nieces, Alicia Marie, Sara Nicole, and Emma Catherine; his cousins; aunts, Helen Marie Granozio and companion, Harold Young, of NJ, Evelyn Elfstrom of NJ, and Lorraine Osborne Jensen of MN; and his lifelong friend, Mike Majewicz. The family extends special thanks to the First Responders who so valiantly fought for Jeff and the Emergency Room staff at St. Luke's Hospital for their great efforts. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to Spring Farm Cares in lieu of floral offerings; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Jeffrey's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. Mark's Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mark Pasik. Inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family. Online tributes at: www.EannaceFuneralHome.com
