Cecelia DURANA Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Dec. 3, 2011.
DURANA, Cecelia (nee Loch) March 8, 1912 - November 30, 2011 Cecelia Durana passed away peacefully in her sleep. Born in St. Louis, Missouri to Louise and George Loch, Cecelia was the eldest of two daughters. She is survived by her loving daughter, Alice (John) Tiles, and granddaughter, Jennifer. Cecelia was a remarkable woman of great strength, a kind heart and a passionate devotion to her family. She was happiest tending her beautiful gardens, cooking delicious meals or working on our small farm in Richmond. Cecelia embodied the ideals of integrity, compassion, generosity and hard work. She will be sorely missed and always loved by her family. Thank you to the staff of floor #1, Al Hogg Pavilion, White Rock, for the care and kindness provided Cecelia. A Gathering of family and friends will take place at 1:30 PM on December 5, 2011 at the Tiles' residence. For further information or to offer condolences, please email [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered at www.victoryfuneralcentre.ca You're with grandpa now! Heaven is a little brighter!

Dear Alice and family, Condolences to you at this time. I'm not sure if you are the Alice Durana that lived beside my family on #4 Rd. in Richmond. We moved into your rental house when I was in grade 3 or 4 I believe and I used to play with you and your Mom would invite me in to eat her deliciious meals. If you are the same Alice Durana, you had an Uncle that lived with you too and your family was very hard working. I think of you and your family from time to time and remember how kind your family was to me. Good memories you will always have.
Regards,
Ann Warn (Pegg)
