Elaine THOMPSON Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 28, 2015 in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by Lloyd, her husband of 63 years, and her eldest son David (Debbie). She leaves her sons Bruce, Ron (Maria) and Phil; grandchildren Natalie, Christopher, Nick, Mitchell, Graeme and Julia; and great-grandsons Nikolai and Leo. Elaine grew up in Port Moody and the west side of Vancouver, attending Lord Bing High School and UBC. She left her studies at UBC to join the war effort building fighter planes with Boeing Aircraft. It was there that she met Lloyd. They raised their family of four boys in the home they built in North Vancouver. Elaine and Lloyd were avid travellers, and she was a passionate bridge player, accomplished cook and consummate hostess. Above all she was a loving mother and a source of wisdom patience and poised strength for her family. She is missed by her extensive family and friends. A special thank you to Elaine's caregivers. This team provided love and care which allowed Elaine to fulfill her wish of remaining in her home.
