FRIESEN, Ian Peter Charles
1961 – 2016
Ian passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016 at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock at age 55. Ian was predeceased by his parents, Peter Richard Friesen and Erna Friesen (Toews). He is lovingly remembered and will be missed by his stepmother Emelie, sister Elaine (Don), brothers Allan and Glenn (Carol) as well as his niece Kristy (Trevor), nephews Michael, Cameron, and Kevin and great-nephew Hunter. Ian was loved and will be remembered for his kindness and the patience he consistently displayed. He loved the great outdoors, especially in the fall when it came to camping, fishing with his dad and brothers. Ian enjoyed a career at Vancouver Airport, with 18 of those years with Landmark Aviation. A Graveside Service will be held at the Greendale Cemetery, Chilliwack, BC on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. The family wishes to thank the medical team of Peace Arch Hospital for the care they provided. I was sad to hear of Ian's passing at just 55 years young. My condolences go out to Elian, Allan, Glen and family. I have many fond memories of the time were together during our miss spent youths. Like the time Ian lit his Dads newly planted pampass grass on fire with some ill placed fire works, he ran away and left me standing there with his father yelling out the window at me thinking I did it. Ian was hiding at the side of the house on 49th laughing at me. Just one of many stories I thought I would share, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I would just like to give my condolences to the family of Ian. I was very close to Ian and his family growing up. I remember going fishing with him and his father many times. Ian helped shape my character as we grew up together. I lost touch over the years but all my thoughts of being his friend growing up give me nothing but fond memories. God speed Ian rest in peace
