Harold Palmquist Obituary

Harold Palmquist, age 71 of Thousand Oaks passed away February 21, 2015 at Kaiser LA Medical Center with his wife and son by his side.

Harold was born October 20, 1943 in San Francisco, CA, to Harold F. and Helen C. (Davis) Palmquist.Harold spent 7 years in the Air Force as a fuel specialist and 7 years in the Air National Guard in Phoenix, Arizona.

On December 19, 1964, while on leave from Air Force, he married Mary Ann King at St. John's Episcopal Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The couple moved to Michigan where Harold was stationed at Selfridge AFB. After serving in Vietnam they moved to Chandler, Arizona where he was stationed at Williams AFB. Soon after his discharge from the Air Force they moved to Tempe, Arizona.

Harold graduated from Arizona State University in 1979 with an Electronics degree. After his graduation the family moved to Texas where he worked for Intermedics. Thereafter the family moved to St. Charles, Missouri, where Harold worked for McDonnell Douglas. They moved to Newbury Park and later to Thousand Oaks where he worked for Litton Guidance and Control Systems/Northrop Grumman Navigation Systems retiring in January 2010.Harold was a VFW life member and a charter member of Post 7401 in Chandler, Arizona. He was very active in his church where he served on the Vestry, sang in the choir for many years, played softball on St. Patrick's co-ed team and enjoyed traveling in his RV.

Harold is survived by Mary Ann, his wife of 50 years, son Harold, daughter Jacquelyn, two grandsons and two brothers. A memorial service will be held March 21 at 1:00 pm at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, 1 Church Road, Thousand Oaks.
