On Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at the age of 98, Ms. Peggy, having lived in her words "a very full life," left this temporal world to join Our Lord to begin her eternal reward.
After the death of her husband of 32 years ago in 1969, she came from Canada to Southern California in 1975 to be closer to her last living sister, Margaret (who died in 1998).
Having no children of her own, she is survived by a nephew in Sun Valley and a great-niece in San Jose.
Ms. Peggy made many friends and affected many lives in the Ventura Ave. area as a dedicated volunteer. She loved helping at the Ventura Ave. Adult Center Brown Bag Program. Self-taught to read and speak Spanish, she tutored Hispanic individuals at the Ventura Ave. Library in English to pass citizenship tests or enroll in college classes. Joining American Mission Teams Outdoor Gospel Church in 1991, she supervised the Place of Rest Clothing Ministry from 1995 through 2007. She was always concerned about the needs of others and thankful for all the programs and services available to those in need.
Always fashionable in her array of hats, Peggy chose to "think on things of good report," which her friends believe is what gave her such a long life; forgiving everyone and believing the best. Never owning a telephone or a television set, she enjoyed gardening, listening to radio programs and being around friends and neighbors.
She was very thankful to the volunteers and friends who came to her need during the last two years of her life, allowing her to continue to live as independently as possible in the trailer park she called home since 1979.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16 at Total Life Christian Center, 660 N. Ventura Ave., Ventura.
Donations may be made in her name to City of Ventura Adult Center, 550 Ventura Ave., Ventura, CA 93001, or American Mission Teams, P.O. Box 339., Norris City, IL 62869, to support the programs she loved.

I didn't know Mrs. Pallant very well, but the few times I met her she was very nice. Very sweet. My condolences to her family and friends.

Mrs Pallant was one of the nicest and most giving person that I have ever met. I will never forget our Tuesday morning "dates". She was there rain or shine--dressed to the nines. I will never forget her.

Thank you Lord for Ellen's life.
Keep her in your love.
May I, as she did, thing on "think on things of good report." And also have a long life.
In the name of Jesus.
