Our dear Lennart Gohrn passed quietly on Sept. 28, 2010 at the age of 85. He will be dearly missed and is survived by his daughter, Gunilla; son-in-law, Niclas; grandaughters, Kara and Katja; as well as his longtime companion Felicity. He has also left extended family and friends all over the world. Len wanted to be remembered for having a fantastic life!
Born July 13, 1925 in Lund, Sweden, he immigrated to the United States in 1956. He reconnected with his lost love Marianne and married her in 1964. They lived happily until she passed of cancer in 1997. He became an American citizen in 1976, and was fiercely patriotic. He worked as an executive in international trade for over 35 years and retired early at the age of 55. He spent his retirement years traveling, writing, and working with several charities. He especially loved sponsoring children around the world. He will be warmly remembered for his sunny personality and positive outlook on life. He will be cremated and his ashes scattered at sea.
There will be a memorial service planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Guardian Memorial, Funeral Directors, A Heritage Life Tribute Center, Oxnard; 485-2572.

I remember Mr. Gohrn coming into our chocolate shop in downtown Ventura for years. He was a very nice man who we always enjoyed seeing. He brought us laughter and great conversation. He will be missed by all that knew him.
