I was stepmother to this beautiful boy for more than half his life. I loved him and took care of him as my own. He was little brother to my two children, Ashley and Westin, and “Uncle Alex” to my granddaughter, Averial. We love him very much and will miss him immensely. He was loved by my entire family, and he will always be a part of us. We all have so many wonderful memories of this bright, funny, quick-witted, sweet child. We are so saddened by your loss. We have spent the last couple of days looking back at our scrapbooks and times with Alex. Damon we enjoyed looking back at the time when you coached Alex and BC in the "perfect season" of basketball. Also, at the year we spent playing baseball with Alex and he got the "pig-skinned" glove and automatically got the nickname "pig" by his team mates. So many good memories to hold on to. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I first met Alex when we were in 5th grade. Then in 7th grade we were parteners in a band ensuemble and we won 2nd place. I was so nervous and Alex kept telling me to calm down and relax. He could always make me laugh no matter the circumstance. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
