ARNE CHRISTIANSEN (Age 88)

Lt. Col. USAR (Ret.)

of Alexandria, VA, on October 9, 2006. Beloved husband of the late Lois Christiansen. Survived by sister Else Lenser; five children, Kay Davis and her husband Murray, Gary Christiansen, David Christiansen, William Christiansen and Ava Christiansen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three nephews and one niece.

Lt. Col. Christiansen entered the service in July 1942. He served in Europe during World War II in the 17th Airborne Division, in Korea with the 25th Infantry Division and in Vietnam as a Senior Logistics Advisor. He retired a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserve in February l968. After retiring from the military, he worked in the private sector and in civil service until 1980.

Viewing and visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA. A service will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 1 p.m. at the Fort Myer Chapel, Fort Myer, VA, with Full Military Honors. Interment Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests sending donations to Washington National Cathedral, 3101 Wisconsin Ave., N.W., Washington, DC 20016, or LSU Health Science Center Fdn., Attn.
