ELISE CALDWELL Obituary
ELISE WELLS CALDWELL (Age 100)
Passed away on January 19, 2018, at her home at Greenspring Village in Springfield, Virginia. Born in Callands, Virginia on December 22, 1917, Elise was the youngest of eleven children born to Charles Wesley Wells and Ida Hankins Wells. Elise was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, John A. Caldwell, her parents, and her 10 siblings. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Alexandria for 65 years. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Loretta M. Caldwell; three grandsons, Brian (Elizabeth), Keith and Michael Caldwell; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial service and inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist of Alexandria Foundation, Inc., 2932 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302. Additional information may be found at www.demainefunerals.com

She was a kind, dignified lady. We were neighbors at the retirement home for 10 years, and I always felt I could talk to her. She was an excellent conversationalist because she listened to you. It must have become difficult for her as her ears wouldn't allow her to hear any more. I will miss her.

Elise was a beautiful woman inside and out. Always a lady with style and elegance. I will forever cherish the memories of her at our Thanksgiving gatherings. She ran a long and faith filled race. God grant her eternal rest.
