Jane, I was Jay's cousin and lived with them while attending the Coeur d' Alene Jr. College. I live back home in Van Wert, Ohio where his Grandpa Jess and the rest of the family lives. I would love to hear from you. I'm so glad to at least know what happened and where Jay is after extensive searching.
My love to your family, Jerry Roth

Jay was a kind gentle and caring person who went out of his way to help and do for others when he saw a need. Prayers are with the family for your loss. He always went out of his way to make sure things were done right. It was a pleasure to have known him and it was Loudoun County's loss when he retired.

I worked with Jay on the court complex project for many years. Although I was with the sheriff's office I was made, by Jay, to be a part of the team. I recall several intensce issues that we were dealing with and Jay made sure we were able to get through this issues smoothly and for the best interest of all. He was as much a friend, gentalman as anyone could ever be.
The family is in my prays Jay will live on in my mind and heart as the true person he was. A great man.

I knew Jay "way back" in the l960's when he was a Junior in High School at IHM Academy in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. As I read these tributes I am delighted to know that he never changed. He was very bright, Kind, loving, laughing and loyal in l964...as a boy playing baseball.

Jay was a true professional and treated everyone the same no matter what their "status" was in life or on the job. I enjoyed working with Jay and he was a great help with our Public Safety tower sites and leases in Loudoun County. John 3:3

I've only known Jay and Jane for the past 4 years. I met them when I joined SJN parish when I retired. I first met them when they were sponsors in the RCIA and Jay so impressed me as a faith filled man and very open about his journey as a professional man, a husband, father, and his struggle with cancer. I then had the privilege to travel with him to France and enjoyed his delightful sense of humor as well as his beautiful voice. I joined the choir this year and could tell he was failing but he never complained. He was a truly good man, a real inspiration. I will miss him. He was a wonderful example of Salesian spirituality.

Jay was one of the best persons I've ever known. He had a deep sense of humor and was so kind to me when I joined Loudoun County government. I am honored and a better person for having known and worked with Jay. My heart and prayers go out to Jay's wife, family, and to all of us who will miss him greatly.

What sad news. I only know Jay from the trip to France, taken by the SJN Choir in 2012. Jay impressed me as a wonderful person, devoted to his wife Jane and always at her side. He lived a short life, but one of quality.

When my family moved to northern Virginia eight years ago Jay and Jane Snyder warmly welcomed my husband and myself to the Saint John Neumann Choir. Jay also assisted me in efforts of locating a new job. His gracious and warm smile will be dearly missed at church. I have always felt that both Jay and Jane made an exemplary couple. Truly a perfect match. I was privileged to have known Jay Syder.

I was hired by Jay approximately 8 years ago, when he was the Director of General Services for Loudoun County Gov't. I will always remember him as a man of true inner joy, caring and altruistic, with his priorities in the right place.Though I did not know Jay's family, I am sure such a loving man will be truly missed. However there is always the comfort knowing that through the mercy of His Sacred Heart, he will share eternity with all the heavenly hosts of our God. Our prayers will continue for the repose of his soul.
