BRANSON SCOTT SMITH "Scotty" (Age 87)
On Sunday, January 15, 2017 of Seaford, Delaware. Beloved husband of Beverly Helene Smith for 36 years passed away at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware; devoted father of Gary Byrd, William Smith, Steven Smith, Annalisa Smith, Bruce Smith, and Brian Smith; loving brother of his only sister Thelma Porter, and beloved human of his cat Eglinton and his dog Yippy. Viewing and service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday January 28, 2017 at the Smith family church: Good Hope Union United Methodist Church, 14680 Good Hope Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20905, pastor Tori Butler presiding. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Branson S. Smith's name.

Dear cousin, I think and pray for you and your family daily. You are greatly missed. I was able to attend the going away service for your dear sister sister Thelma (whom we knew as 'Puddin') this past November!) She lived with us in Kalamazoo when she went to high school. Kt was wonderfujl to be with Smith family rletatives whom I hadn't seen for many years! May you be resting and singing in peace. God Bless. Cousin Ann~

Dear Cousin: This may be a duplicate but I want to share it again with your friends and loved ones! You were my dear late sister's Jeni (Thelma -Christine) childhood play mate. The two of you used to play in the scaffolding of your father's home on Randolph Road as it was being built. Your dear sister Thelma came to Kalamazoo, Michigan to attend high school and was a companion for
Jeni!' There were Three Thelma's in the household, which included my mother, who was also named Thelma! This was such a joyful time for all of us. You were so kind and attentive to our aunts, included my mother and I am so grateful to you for this. There will be some beautiful music in heaven. Rest in peace dear cousin. Love eternal. Dr. Ann~

I just learned of this news and I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Scotty's passing. He and my Father spoke often and my Dad really valued that friendship. I have many memories of going to my Mr. Scotty's house in Colesville where he had his barbershop in his home. I would often babysit for Bruce & Brian when they were young. Since I also retired from Verizon, Mr. Scotty and I often spoke about our jobs in the organization. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to the family.
