On February 1, 2002, in Manassas, VA, OPAL "CHRIS" INEZ POSEY PARR; daughter of Joseph and Carson Whitehead Posey, beloved mother of Rex, Jim, Rob, and Michael Parr. A world traveler, she lived in Japan, Hawaii and Germany. She was an accomplished gardener, painter and tailor, and read voraciously. She was active in the Order of Saint Luke and the Laubach Literacy Council. She is survived by her sons Rex and Rob Parr, both of Manassas, VA, and Michael Parr of Chevy Chase, MD. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Thelma Carstenson of Chula Vista, CA, Yvonne Williams, Betty Denham, Dolly Fontenot and Lilly Graves, all of Baton Rouge, LA, her grandchildren Symphony, Adam, Katherine and Sierra Parr, her niece Lynne Johnston and many other friends and family. Her parents, brother Roland, sisters Eva, Pat, and Lela, former husband Rex and son James Wade precede her in death. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at the BLASIUS-BAKER FUNERAL HOME, 9320 West Street Manassas, Virginia at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Frederick L. Parrish officiating. Internment will follow at National Memorial Park, 7400 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA, where she will join her son Jim. A memorial contributions can be made in the form of a donation to Unity School of Christianity, 1901 NW Blue Parkway, Unity Village, MO 64065-0001.
