Calvin Matteson Obituary

Calvin C. Matteson, 72, of Wellsville, passed away on Dec. 16, 2014 after battling cancer.

Calvin was born Dec. 8, 1942 in the town of Wellsville to Milford and Thelma (Barnes) Matteson of Belmont.

On Jan. 21, 1965, Calvin married Judy (Geffers) Matteson, who survives and resides in Wellsville. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, James Matteson of Addison, and Donald Matteson of Belmont; and a special friend, Phil Zella.

In addition to his wife, Judy of Wellsville, N.Y., to whom he was married to for 49 years, Calvin is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Howard) Crowner of Wellsville, Kristina (Mark) Fries of Portville; two sons, Kevin (Linda) Matteson of Bolivar, and Kurtis (Kelly) Matteson of Alma; nine wonderful grandchildren, Justin Andrew, Kyle Crowner, Randi Matteson, Kody, Alyssa Matteson, Markae, Dalton, Matteson Fries; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Trystyn and Isabel Crowner.

Calvin is also survived by two brothers, Richard (Jeanie) Matteson of South Carolina; Robert (Lavon) Matteson of Belfast; two sisters, Sheila Hollis of Illinois, and Connie (Ross) Chalker of Belfast; and sister-in-law, Judy (Williams) Matteson of Addison; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.

He is survived by several special friends, Terry Wright, Leann Dixon and her three boys.

Memorial contributions in Calvin's name may be made to the Hart Comfort House at 141 East State Street. Wellsville, N.Y. 14895.
