David Jarchow Obituary

David Lynn Jarchow, 60, of Quincy, died at 2:19 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 10, 2011) in his home.

David was born June 24, 1951, in Quincy, a son of William Leon and Helen Phyllis Gronewald Jarchow. He married Sarah Isabel Higgins on Dec. 16, 1983, in Palmyra, Mo. She died on Oct. 10, 2011.

David was a 1969 graduate of Moline High School. He held several degrees in computer science, and he worked as a systems analyst consultant in the financial industry. In his spare time, David enjoyed gardening, golfing and fishing.

Survivors include two brothers, William Louis (Karen) Jarchow of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Mark L. (Karen) Jarchow of Georgetown, S.C.; four sisters-in-law, Marian H. Donohue of Quincy, Elizabeth H. Garrison of West Lafayette, Ind., Marjorie J. Higgins of Springfield, and Morey (Andy) Taraska of Quincy; two brothers-in-law, Arthur Higgins II of Conroe, Texas, and James H. Higgins of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 nephews; 10 nieces; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul L. Jarchow; an aunt, Pauline Smith; and an uncle, Dolan Jarchow.

SERVICES: Noon Saturday memorial service will be held at Quincy Memorial Park followed by a gathering of family and friends at Spring Street (1631 Spring St.).

MEMORIALS: A charity of the donor's choice.
