Norma Lea Frakes

LORAINE, ILL. -- Norma Lea Frakes, 76, of 2007 Hwy. 61, Loraine, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 13, 2011) in her home.

She was born May 26, 1934, in Macomb, a daughter of Robert and Mabel Green Estes. On Aug. 8, 1952, she married Richard Lee Frakes in Macomb. He died Oct. 22, 2003.

Norma had a life-long passion for natural health and therapeutic massage. She was a licensed reflexologist and operated her own practice at 12th and Vermont for many years. She had also been an EMT for several years.

In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and crafts. Norma was dearly loved and adored by her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Richard ‘Rick' Frakes and his wife, Patricia, of DeSoto, Randy Frakes and his wife, Gayle, of Golden; six grandchildren, Heather Frakes-Campbell and her husband, Mike, of Granite City Heath Frakes and his wife, Katie, of Kauai, Hawaii, Richie Frakes, of Arlington, Texas, and Reide, Rhett, and Reece Frakes, of Golden; two great-grandchildren, Titus and Milan Frakes, of Kauai; a sister, Donna Baker, and her husband, Marlin, of Industry; a brother, Chuck Estes and his wife, Arlene, of Craig, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert Jr., Bernerd and Laverne Estes; and a sister, Ruby Hamilton.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4216 Harrison, Quincy, with Owen Havens conducting.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.
