Patty Gillespie Obituary

LEWISTOWN, Mo. -- Patty Gillespie, 62, of Lewistown, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 11:49 a.m. Thursday (June 9, 2011) surrounded by the love and prayers of her family and friends while in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill.

She was born on April 14, 1949, in Quincy, to John M. and Naomi McDowell Logue. She was united in marriage to Kenny Gillespie on May 24, 1969, in the Durham Baptist Church in Durham, Mo.

Patty actively served at Durham Baptist Church where she was a member. She loved her family dearly and always enjoyed spending time together. She enjoyed taking trips with her husband in the RV and taking their grandchildren camping. She was musically talented on the dobro and enjoyed playing gospel and bluegrass music with her family and friends.

Over the years, she served in various areas of employment, most recently as an independent Avon representative where she enjoyed meeting and serving people.

Cherishing every precious and loving memory of Patty are her mother, Naomi Logue of Lewistown; husband, Kenny Gillespie of Lewistown; three children, Lori Holbert and husband, Donald, of Hallsville, Kelly Moore and husband, Aaron, of Lewistown, and Brian Gillespie and wife, Kristen, of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Donald Holbert Jr., Allen Moore, Kayla Moore and Kenzie Gillespie; four brothers, Bill Logue of Houston, Texas, Larry Logue and wife, Elke, of Hannibal, David Logue and wife, Marina, of Florida and Phillip Logue and wife Cymbre of Trinity, Texas; mother-in-law, Lucille Gillespie of Ewing; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Dorothy Gillespie of LaGrange; sister-in-law, Diana Gillespie of Hurst, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and countless others whose lives have been touched through her generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her father, John M. Logue; father-in-law, Ivan Gillespie; and brother-in-law, Gary Gillespie.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Monday in Durham Baptist Church, Durham, with Pastor Scott Hawes and Rev. John Moore conducting. Burial will be in Lewistown Cemetery.

VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. today in Durham Baptist Church.

MEMORIALS: Durham Baptist Church Memorial Fund.

ARRANGEMENTS: Arnold's Funeral Home, Lewistown.
