I moved away from Hull, IL 35 years ago. I thought of coach many times. He made an impact on my life and I will for ever be grateful. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to personally thank coach a few months ago. We will all miss you.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Jo and all of the family. Coach touched my life more than he or anyone will ever know. Coach was strict but always fair, he was firm but had a soft heart, he enjoyed life every single day and that joy rubbed off on you when you were near him. He will be missed by all of us, but he will never be forgotten. Now heaven has the star player we all knew so well. God Bless You Coach.

The world would be a far better place, and there would be more physically fit young people in this country if there were more teachers like Coach Schumann. He displayed true leadership every day, and made a difference in my life and the lives of countless others. God bless him and my prayers go out to his family.

My sympathy to the Ray Schumann family. Coach Schumann was a great athlete and greater person. I am so thankful to have had Mr. Schumann as a coach and friend. I am so sorry that I never had a chance to tell him how much he influenced my life. Some of my most fond memories at West Pike revolved around Coach. I will never forget him.
