Theresa D. (Dyer) Greaves, 83, of Lincoln, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at her Lincoln home. She was the beloved wife of the late Allan W. Greaves. They were married in 1953 at St. Marks Church in Dorchester. Born in Boston on January 25, 1928 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Connelly) Dyer. She attended Boston public schools, graduated from South Boston High School in 1948 and graduated from the Cadet Nursing Program at Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. During the Korean Conflict, from 1950 until 1952, she served in the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps and later the Navy Reserves. A Lincoln resident since 1954, Mrs. Greaves was active with the Lincoln Minuteman Association. A longtime Communicant of St. Joseph Church in Lincoln, she was involved in several church volunteer activities. She was an active member of the Bereavement Committee and the Sodality at St. Josephs Church, a volunteer Girl Scout Leader in Lincoln and active with the Lincoln Minutemen Association. For twenty-one years, Mrs. Greaves was the Nursing Supervisor at Fernald School in Waltham. Previously, from 1956 until 1961, she worked as a nurse at Emerson Hospital in Concord. and later worked as a nurse at The Storrow House in Lincoln. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Greaves-Toker and her husband Emre of Tucson, AZ and Elizabeth J. Doten and her husband Jeffrey of Plainville, Roberta A. Brechtel and her husband Steven of Scarsdale, NY, one son, William A. Greaves of Lincoln, five grandchildren, Brendan and Stephanie Murphy, Nicholas, Samuel and Joshua Brechtel, two step-grandchildren, Alexandra and Connor Doten and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Marie McGah, Virginia Amundson, Ann Cahill, John W. Dyer, Eugene Dyer, George Dyer and Robert Dyer. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 2nd from 4 to 8 PM at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Funeral will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 8:45 AM from the Dee Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 142 Lincoln Road, Lincoln at 10 AM. Military burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln where officers of the U. S. Navy will present military honors.
