DELAURIER, Donald William Sr.
August 6, 1926 - December 31, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Donald on December 31, 2014 at Riverside Place Nursing Home (LTC). Donald was 88 years of age. Beloved husband of the late Rachel Kotow (Tytgat) 2007 and the late Isabel (Dupuis) 1976. Loving father of the late Donald Jr. and wife Eileen, Jean and George Cipkar, Bruce and Christine, late Ken and Jeanine, Shirley and late Karl Ebert and David and Anna. Dear stepfather of David and Virginia Kotow, Deborah Dumouchelle, the late Sharon and Zig Misiak. Loving grandfather of 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Donald is survived by brother Raymond and Jackie Delaurier and predeceased by brothers Frank (Joyce), Oliver (late Frieda), Earl (Bernice) and Norman (Betty) and sisters Dorothy (late Maurice) and June (late Romeo). Survived by a stepbrother and sisters and several nieces and nephews. Donald retired after 30 years with GM Canada (Windsor) and was a member of CAW 1973. He was a WW II Army Vet and proud member of the Canadian Legion Essex. He took great enjoyment in golfing and in winter vacations in Florida with his caring wife Rachel. on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on January 3, 2015 at St. Simon and St. Jude Parish at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery. To the Delaurier family,
I was sorry to learn that Mr. Delaurier passed away. Don Sr. was nice man. I have many fond memories spending time at the Delaurier houses with Dave in the sixties and seventies.
