Jim DUNLOP Obituary
Died: February 7, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of James (Jim) Dunlop who passed away on February 7 at his home in Cornwall, Ontario. Jim was born in Windsor, Ontario to proud parents Alvin and Gerry Dunlop. Jim is survived by his loving mother Gerry Dunlop (Kentville, Nova Scotia), his sister Margo Cadegan (Ernest Cadegan, Port Williams, Nova Scotia), his three children Blair (Whistler, BC), Kimberly (Reykjavik, Iceland) and Ross Dunlop (Guelph, Ontario), two grandchildren Sebastian and Alice (Ross and Cat Dunlop) and nieces Laura and Meg Roberts. He was predeceased by his Dad, Alvin and niece Catherine Roberts. Jim was a logistical wizard in his professional career, working exclusively in transportation and warehousing including positions at Maritime Warehousing and Transfer in Dartmouth, Imperial Tobacco in Moncton and Montreal and Matrix Logistic in Mississauga and Cornwall. Jim was a man of great talent, an avid fisherman and devoted Montreal Canadians fan. He was a wonderful father who lived actively with his children, coaching hockey and soccer over the years. He was a gifted basketball player and avid skier. He loved to travel and had devised a "Bucket List" after his MS diagnosis to see the world. He made it to Alaska, Australia, Indonesia and Iceland in recent years just to name a few. His legend and will live on through his children and grandchildren for generations to come. Fifteen days now that I haven't received a text or a call from him just to check in or ask if I'd heard from the kids and my heart is breaking. I will miss him forever. Despite a failed marriage, he was and will also be the love of my life. Cindy

Blair, Kim and Ross - we were sad to hear of Jim's passing. Many great memories with the Dunlops. One of them would be standing on our front deck watching a thunder and lightening storm. It was less than a week ago when reminiscing about our old neighbourhood in Milford, Nova Scotia that many fond memories of Jim and family were recalled. They were wonderful times. Jim was a huge part of the neighbourhood and he will continue to be remembered with great fondness. His friendship was and will always be appreciated beyond words.

The Dunlop Family, I met Jim while he was at Maritime Moving here in Dartmouth,NS. I am proud & humble to be able to call him a friend and perhaps, a bit of a mentor, as I started to work in the Operations and Logistics aspect of the transportation industry with Thompson's Moving & Storage. His advice and encouragement was second to none and always taken with the utmost respect. We even accomplished a few things after hours as well...
We lost touch over the years however his name is mentioned often amongst those of us in this area, still in the industry.
My sympathies are extended to his family.

Jim was a member of the 12th New Glasgow Venturer Company in New Glasgow NS during the 60's and 70's, a great bunch of guys, who are shocked in his passing. We are all still friends and remember our time together, he will be missed.
