Gary Enerson Obituary

Enerson, Gary Allen

Gary Allen Enerson, age 63, of 1511 Washington Street, Wisconsin Rapids, passed away August 25, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Wisconsin Rapids.

A small but lively gathering for Gary will be held at a later date.

Gary was born June 20, 1953 in Wisconsin Rapids to the late Roy and Margaret (Burnett) Enerson. He graduated from Nekoosa High School in 1971 and went on to receive an Associate's Degree from the United Electronics Institute in Des Moines, Iowa as a member of the class of 1973. His partnership with Jody Steinke began in 1985 and they were married on November 21, 200 in Maui, Hawaii at the Westin Kannapali Beach. Gary worked as an electrician for 40 years at Consolidated Papers/Verso in Wisconsin Rapids until his retirement on July 1, 2015.

Gary was a member of IBEW, the Tri Norse Ski Club (Ski Jumper) and was an avid Packer fan and extreme Wisconsin Badger Fan (Season ticket holder). He was a longtime proud Harley owner and HOG member.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife Jody of Wisconsin Rapids, Aunt "Ely" Eleanor and Uncle Lyle Zurfluh of Wisconsin Rapids, his first cousin Eric Enerson of Oshkosh, WI, second cousins Todd, Timm and Troy Kuhn all of Wisconsin Rapids, Marsha (Paul) Bauer Anderson of Madison, WI, Brenda (Mike) Hanson of Wisconsin Rapids, Debra Bauer of Sarasota, FL, Sandra Coon of Nekoosa, brother-in-law Lawrence R. (Butch) Bauer of Sarasota, FL, sisters-in-law Edna Kuhn, Donna Kuhn and Kay Enerson. He is further survived by a lot of wonderful local friends who he has known for years and some amazing Badger tailgate friends from all over the state and then some. "On Wisconsin!"

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Norman "Rocky" Kuhn, Harold Kuhn, and Phillip Enerson; one sister Arlene (Butch) Pearl "Toots" Bauer and cousin Tommy Enerson.

Gary sometimes was even known to become a part-time thespian watching his wife at WRCT. "Whisper words of wisdom, Let it be. Take the long way home."

A memorial for Gary will be established at a later date.
