VIRGINIA DOBBINS YATES CHRISTIANSBURG-Virginia Dobbins Yates, 90, formerly of Check, VA, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Irving Yates, and her parents, James Cabell Dobbins and Mary Katherine Lawrence Dobbins. Surviving are: her sons, Charlie Cox ,Westerville, OH; Jamey Yates, Check, VA; one sister, Helen Dobbins, Blacksburg, VA; one sister-in-law, Lucille Dobbins, Christiansburg, VA; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Stonewall Cemetery with the Reverend Elbert Lee Naff officiating. The family extends their thanks to Mary Ann Harris and her staff for their professional care. Condolences to the family may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com
