Mr.Innerst was the first male teacher (5th grade at Weigelstown)I had and he was the best teacher I ever had. I still remember him taking our class to the family farm for an educational outing and picnic. He certainly touched many young lives and made a great impact on my own. May he find enteral life with the Lord our God.

I'm really sorry to hear of Pete passing away. I was fortunate to be neighbors with him and got to know him very well. We always talked about his garden of flowers and there was never a shortage of strawberries when they were in season. Again, I am so sorry to hear this and thanks for the memories ''Pete''.

He was a wonderful teacher, and I had him for both 2nd & 3rd Grade at Leib. He had such a love of teaching that he made it seem like it was all fun, and yet I learned so much. And his sense of humor lives on...I still hear his voice referring to a hospital as a "Horse Pistol" whenever I drive past one...LOL. May his path to the beyond be lined with his beloved irises...

I'm very sorry to hear of Mr. Innerst passing. I had him many years ago in 2nd grade at Dover Elementary, and he also lived down the street from my family for some time. He was my favorite teacher. I can see from the other posts, that he was loved by many of his past students. He had such passion for teaching - I think part of that passion came from his firey red hair! I will always remember the way he read James and the Giant Peach, and the money reward system we had for good behavior! May God bless your family in this sad time, for the passing a very wonderful man.

My deepest sympathy to the Innerst family. I was a student of his way back in 1970-1971 at Leib Elementary. He was the greatest teacher I ever had. He had a passion for the students that shined brightly and made you want to be the best student you could be. I also remember that he helped my mom get started with her love of the Iris and his pride when showing us his prized garden. He was certainly a special person and I am a better person for having known him. May God bless and keep you in peace as you mourn your loss. Mr. Innerst will always hold a special place in my heart.
