Marilyn Ritterbeck Obituary

Marilyn M. Ritterbeck

ZANESVILLE: Marilyn M. Ritterbeck, 85 of Zanesville, went to be with her Lord at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

Marilyn was born May 6, 1931 in Zanesville, OH the daughter of the late Ray C. Mendenhall and Hazel (Cartwright) Dick. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a giving and compassionate person. As a very simple and down to earth woman, she gave all she had to those she loved and she never met a stranger. She was a strong Democrat, Union supporter and member of F.O.E # 302. She enjoyed keeping up on politics, the news and Ohio State Football. In earlier years she and her husband Jim enjoyed traveling in their motor home and making new friends wherever they went. She will be sadly missed by her dear best friends Rose Hamilton and Nancy Newton. She loved animals especially her cats Casper and Miss Priss.

Marilyn is survived by her two children, Gregory (Maggie) Ritterbeck of Zanesville and Deborah Ritterbeck of Zanesville;

her grandchildren, Jim (Kendra) Ritterbeck, David (Rebecca) Ritterbeck, Mark Ritterbeck, Andrea (Les Fleming) Ritterbeck, Sam Cronin, Sarah (Mark) Goodrich and Krista (Ben) Collard-Pearce; her great-grandchildren, Adrick, Kammi, Kenzi, Sydney, Slade, Gavin, Ariston, Gabby, Leslie, Dylan, Haylie, Toby and Macy; three great-great grandchildren, Jaden, Jadontae and Zander; her brother Joseph Lynn (Amy) Mendenhall of Dennison, OH and a sister-in-law Gletta Mendenhall of Zanesville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband James E. Ritterbeck who passed away January 25, 2012 and her brother Ray Mendenhall.

Please consider making memorial contributions in Marilyn's name to Christ Table, 28 South 6th St. Zanesville, OH 43701

In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

So sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I had not been in touch for a while, but Red and I always enjoyed being with her and your dad. I always considered her one of my favorite cousins and have many fond memories of growing up together. I am praying for you all.
