Barbara Matheney

ZANESVILLE: Barbara Ann Matheney, 87, of Zanesville, passed away with family by her side on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Genesis Morrison House.

Barbara was born in Zanesville on July 24, 1925 the daughter of the late Roy and Kathryn (Sebach) Wilson she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She retired from West Muskingum Middle School as a Teacher's Aid. She served on the West Muskingum School Board for 4 years and was a member of the Zanesville Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame.

Barbara is the loving wife of Robert E. Matheney for 58 years, Loving mother of Rita (James) Miller, Rhonda (the late Chris) Gryspos, Sandy (Ron) McGee, Marcy (Kevin) Cater and Brad (Penny) Matheney. Cherished Grandmother of Jodie (Mark) Englehart, Brett Miller, Jami (Shaun) Bridwell, Deadra (Rick) Cameron, Andrea Allen, Nyckoletta (Jared) Martin, Chris Gryspos, Jim McGee, Amanda McGee, Andrew(Kendra) McGee, Adam McGee, Genna Cater and Abbey Cater. Great-Grandmother of Jillian (Chris) Leake, Jensen Buchanan, Jocelynn Miller, Jakob Miller, Ashley Powers, Megan Powers, Drew Allen, Logan Ralstin, Ethan Martin and Lauren McGee. Great-Great Grandmother of Karson Leake

The Matheney family has selected the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME to handle the cremation arrangements. A private service will be held at a later date. Barbara wanted her friends to remember her for her smile, her laughter, her love for her family and her amazing love of life. To all of the family, I am so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. I have so many fond memories of my time with your family, the many parties we had at Barb and Bob's home and our great bowling team, "Mom and the Brats". Barb was a wonderful, fun loving person. She will be missed.
