Gerald Studer Obituary
SOMERSET: Gerald Dominic Studer, 88, of Somerset, died at 10:54 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Berger Health Systems in Circleville, Ohio.
Gerald was born July 20, 1928 in Rehoboth, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph Eli and Mary Decot Studer.
He was a graduate of Holy Trinity Catholic High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, Knights of Columbus of New Lexington and the Somerset-Reading Twp. Fire Dept. Gerald retired in July of 1990 from Superior Glass Fiber.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy J. Studer; sons, Edward (Deb) Studer, Patrick A. Studer, John (Dianna) Studer and Gary A. Studer; daughter, Mary (Jerry Weaver) O'Brien; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen (Bud) Carney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where Vigil service will be held at 6:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stephen Carmody as celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gene Dawson. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58 providing full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Somerset American Legion Leo Ryan Post 58, P.O. Box 552, Somerset, Ohio 43783.

We are so sorry to hear of Gerald's passing. He and my dad were very close and were like brother's in their younger days. My dad often spoke about "running around Perry County" with Gerald.
Our prayers are with you at this time of loss.
