I am deeply saddened by the death of Mr. Armijo. He was my high school counselor and a person who went far out of his way to help me during my rebellious teenage years. Aside from his well publicized deeds as a member of the Greatest Generation, he was a thoroughly wonderful person who was a great counselor and friend. I will surely miss him. The world has lost a great man.

Mr. Armijo, to my generation, was a hero as a teacher at FUHS. It was no surprise to me when I read his name in Tom Brokaw's book and learned he was a hero for all generations. God bless you all.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Armijo. He was my favorite teacher at FUHS and the inspiration for my career choice. I had the opportunity to speak with him a few years ago to thank him for his time and his service to our Country. May God bless him and his family.
