Dale Forwood Obituary


Dale Edward Forwood CHESAPEAKE - Dale Edward Forwood, 58, of the 900 block of Mount Pleasant Road, passed away at home Oct. 24, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, Pa., he was the son of J. Harold Forwood of Vancouver, Wash., and the late Anna Mae Flory Forwood. He was also predeceased by a sister, Jean. Dale had served in the U.S. Navy for eight years. He owned and operated Associated Machine Shop for many years and was the recent owner and operator of Dale Old Specialized Hauling. Survivors include his two daughters, Michelle L. Fink and Melanie Jo Nunemacher; three sisters, Becky, Lois and Miriam; and a granddaughter, Brittany L. Harshman. A memorial service with Masonic rites and military honors will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. The Rev. Marie Pogorelec will officiate. Friends are also invited to send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com. The family would like to thank Chesapeake Regional Hospice, especially Joan, Valerie, Pam and Linda, for all their loving and compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
