Marjorie Baines Obituary


Marjorie A. Baines PORTSMOUTH - Marjorie Ann Baines, 77, of the 4800 block of Orleans Drive, passed away Nov. 11, 2008, in a local hospital. Born Nov. 22, 1930, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Podruchny. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Archie B. Ward Jr. and a brother, Albert Podruchny. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sharon Sears and husband Joseph and Doreen Amory; three sons, Anthony E. Ward, Terry L. Ward and wife Diana and David B. Ward and wife Jean; five sisters, Alice Tyozandlak, Agnes Craver, Stella Murphy, Michaeline Skrobiszewski and Teresa Seymour; a brother, Richard Podruchny; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Mike Putnam. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501-9873 as Mrs. Baines' wishes were to be cremated. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
