Brett was a high school friend and fellow debator. The last time I saw him was at a Coronado reunion. He was funny and sarcastic and thoughful and smart--as always. I'm sad to hear of his death but happy to have shared great times together many years ago.

Teen age years in El Paso in the seventies--a tumultuous time. Brett was a wonderful friend who helped me to understand life. We talked about philosophy. He read Wittgenstein but could never get me to understand it. We talked about poetry. We debated. We laughed. We experienced the world as only teenagers can. I am glad we had those experiences together. I am sorry that he is gone and that his brilliant mind wont be a part of the next decades. Though we didn't stay in touch, I am saddened to hear he is gone. I will hold the memory of him as the youth that I knew. I share your grief and I send my deepest regard for your loss.
