Blair Kruger Obituary

Blair Paul Kruger MADISON, Wis. - Blair Paul Kruger, 58, formerly of Norfolk, tenaciously battled cancer for many years and was still fighting when he passed away Jan. 9, 2009, with friends by his side. Blair was born Aug. 12, 1950. He was a graduate of Granby High School and Old Dominion University. For the past 15 years, he was employed as an economist for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue in Madison. Previously, he served as an economic analyst for the Office of the Governor in the State of Florida. He had taught economics at Hampton University and Florida State University. Blair traveled extensively and learned several languages. He loved to read, fish, camp, ride his bike and visit with friends. His family and many friends will deeply miss his intelligence, wry wit and well-informed social commentary on just about everything. He was the son of Linda B. Kruger of Norfolk and the late Donald W. Kruger of Fergus Falls, Minn. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings, Blaine Kruger and his wife Meredith, James Kruger and his wife Robin, Jay Dooling and her husband Richard and Conard Kruger and his partner David Toth; as well as his nephews, Avery, Forrest and Mason Kruger; and niece, Sara May and her husband Nik. He also leaves behind his dear friends, Sharon Derry, Jim Maddox and Pat Maddox. A service for Blair will be held at the First Unitarian Church in Madison. Those who wish to honor Blair's memory are asked to send contributions to The University of Wisconsin Foundation, U.S. Bank Lockbox, P.O.
