Edna Lambert Obituary


Edna F. Lambert CHESAPEAKE - Edna Fischer Lambert, 75, of Woodbridge Drive, passed away Jan. 13, 2009, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Fischer. She was predeceased by a son, Keith Marinier and a brother, Norman Fischer. She retired from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Edna was a member of the Lady's Khedive Shrine and will be remembered as an avid animal lover. Survivors include her loving husband of 24 years, Robert W. "Bob" Lambert of Chesapeake; a brother, Eddie Fischer and wife Barbara of Norfolk; three stepchildren, Wes Lambert of Chesapeake, Cindy Birsinger and husband Greg of Richmond and Brian Lambert and wife Susan; five grandchildren, John, Rachel, Ryan, Morgan and Nicholas; three sisters-in-law, Elaine Vogel of New Jersey, Julie Fischer of Virginia Beach and Bobbie Howard of Chesapeake; a family friend, Rosemary Savino; as well as a canine companion, Mimi. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home. The viewing will begin today with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sidney M. Oman Cancer Treatment Center, c/o Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, 736 N. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23320.
