Katherine Fletcher Obituary

Katherine E. Fletcher VIRGINIA BEACH - Katherine "Karen" Fletcher, 58, passed away Feb. 10, 2009. Born in Munich, Germany, on Oct. 15, 1950, to the late Stanley Kelban and Isabelle Johnson. She was very close to her late stepfather, Ken Johnson. Karen was president of Karen Fletcher Consulting and Bottom Line Solutions. She was honored as Hampton Roads Businesswoman of the Year and Professional Women of the Year Award during her career. She was a board member and fundraiser of many local charitable organizations. Karen was board chairman for the Mount Trashmore YMCA for eight years and a past president of the Institute of Management Accountants. Karen was a frequent public speaker, tireless mentor and personal advisor to many. Karen was known as a very generous person, always helping or supporting others in need. Her leisure time was spent with numerous nieces, nephews and God children. Survived by her husband of 28 years, Raymond E. Fletcher; brother, Steven Kelban and wife Nancy; sister, Barbara Myers and husband Henry; stepsister, Gail Griest; in-laws, Sharon and Bob Walters of Idaho; several nieces, nephews, and many godchildren. Memorial service to be held in Rosewood Memorial Park at a later date. Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA. Karen will be sadly missed by those of us who knew her as the kind of friend who knew no limits in her patience, helpfulness and generosity, both tangibly and in spirit. A wonderful lady and her loss is very, very sad for us all. Much sympathy to Ray and her family.
