I worked with John for many years and he was a wonderful person. His ethics were above anyone I had ever worked with before and since. I valued his friendship and his family was the most important thing in his life. It seems like just yesterday we were sitting in my office talking and laughing. My life was enriched by knowing John and Cathy.❤❤

I was very saddened to hear of John's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him during the years we carpooled together when he worked at Newport News. He was a professional, hard worker, and a good natured person. I miss his company from all those many years ago. My heart goes out to the Ritzo family in their loss.

I had the good fortune to know John professionally, and like so many other people he worked with, I am better for the experience. He brought creativity and passion to his work and could evaluate problems on multiple levels to the benefit of his customers. My prayers are with your family. I will really miss John.

John was a true man of Jesus. He loved his wife as Christ loved the church and served as a wonderful role model for his sons. I count it a privilege and blessing to have served with him at Bayside Presbyterian for many years and in doing so, coming to love him and his beautiful family.

Cathy, Brandon, Jonathan and Jared,

May the peace of God that transcends all understanding be upon you all (Phil 4:6-7), bringing you a comfort and love like no other...a comfort and love that will help fill the void left by John's passing. Know you'll all be close in prayer.

In Christ,

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. John was such a special person on so many fronts. His humanity, technical expertise, drive and insight was of the highest caliber. He will be missed by all that knew him. It's for us now to rally around his family and help support them both short term and long term through this loss. It's through this long term support that we really honor the memory of our friend, co worker and mentor John Ritzo.
May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternally confirmed and his friendship and high moral values be an example to us all of a life well lived.

Cathy & Sons,

My life is so much more complete after having worked with John over the past 6 years. He spoke often of the importance of family over all things. Your sons are especially in my thoughts as I also lost my father at a young age. They will come to understand "Why" this has happened in their own terms in their own time. My thoughts & prayers are with you.

Cathy,
I remember the first time we meant. We were in Hawaii, John was so excited that his wife was coming to share sometime with him. He had everything planned for the 2 of you. That was so much like John. Even today John is still working for each and everyone of us in helping to prepare our spot with him in our Fathers House, that is so much like John, thinking of others before himself. I will miss John as a co-worker, friend, mentor and a brother in Christ. The last time I spoke with John we were discussing the Passion Play our church puts on the week of Easter. John was so excited about seeing it and wanted me to remind him of the exact dates so his family could attend. He will now see first hand God's increditable story. Cathy, my prayers as well as or church prayers go out to you and your family during this time of celebration of John's new life. I thank you for the encourgaging emails I received through John's co-workers and the strenght you have displayed through these difficult times. If there is anything I or our church familiy can do please do not hesitate to let me know.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
