Christopher Uzzle Obituary

Christopher D. Uzzle NORFOLK - On Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, the breaking of a new day, our family circle was broken. Our beloved Christopher D. Uzzle went home to be with the Lord. A native of Norfolk, his life began April 22, 1982. He was the son of Lori Uzzle and Richard Parker. He attended the public schools of Norfolk. He was an excellent football and basketball player. "Slim," as we affectionately called him, was a unique, compassionate, gifted and heart giving person. He loved and admired beautiful things of life, and shared them with all who knew him. He wanted nothing but peace in life for others as well as himself. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife, Maria W. Uzzle; one beautiful, precious daughter, Jaynia Uzzle; a devoted, loving mother, Lori Uzzle; his father, Richard Parker; one sister, Ciara Uzzle; one brother, Leander Crawford; his maternal grandparents, Mary Uzzle and Edward Parham; his paternal grandmother, Winifred Parker; two special aunts, Patricia Perry and Pam Simmons; a niece and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Ace Parker. A wake will be held today from 4 to 6 p.m. in Monroe Funeral Home, 1701 Wilson Road, Norfolk. A funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount Hermon Baptist Church, 3101 Lens Ave., Norfolk. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. for the procession to the church.
