Charlie, as he was known to me was a very caring person. He always went camping with my wife's Girl Scout Troop. And always lent a helping hand with everything. He was definitely missed by me. He was my Pal, My Buddy. I always looked up to him.

Our deepest sympathy and fervent prayers for all of you of the Ackerman family there in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the homegoing of your husband, father and grandparent, whom we all knew as "Brother" when we were growing up. We know that he was a sincere member of Christ's family through faith and although now "absent from the body" he is "present with the Lord." All of us family members who share his faith in the Lord Jesus can look forward to being together with him when God calls us to himself one of these days in the future.

Since we live far away in the mid-Pacific and don't have an opportunity to visit the east coast very often, we were looking forward to seeing Charles, and all of you, during the Ackerman family gathering at Narrowsburg in early August. We are still looking forward to our trip to the mainland and we will be happy to see all of you and to share our memories of "Brother." We will indeed miss him!

Mrs. Ackerman, Wayne, Brenda, Bonnie, and John:

I want you to know how much I love all of you and how special you have been to me throughout my life. I have so many fond memories of growing up at the "Ackerman House". You have always been my extended family and will remain that way for the rest of my life. Each one of you are so special to me. Most of the stories in my life, begin with...And there was this time at Mr. & Mrs. Ackerman's house...and there's always more to follow. Growing up there as a child and taking my children over there, especially at Halloween, will always be happy memories for us. Mr. Ackerman will truly be missed by all, but especially me. He treated me like I was one of his own. We used to bump and rub our bellies when I was pregnant. I will always remember the camera(s) he carried around and snapped unexpecting photos of everyone. I miss him so much already that it is hard for me to hold back the tears as I write this. I LOVE HIM AND WILL MISS HIM DEARLY. Love Always, Laura Setliff and Family
