Grace Wiggins

Grace S. Wiggins NORFOLK - Grace Shriver Wiggins, 83, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Grace Bonney Shriver and Edwin Causey Shriver, and was the widow of John Battle Wiggins. Grace was a graduate of Longwood University with a degree in home economics, and was a member of the Longwood Alumni Association. She taught and was affiliated with the Norfolk Public School System for many years. She was a lifelong member of Ghent United Methodist Church and its Laubach Circle of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of The Tidewater Home Economist Association and The Norfolk Yacht and Country Club. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Bonney W. Ball and her husband J.D. of Virginia Beach; her son, John S. Wiggins of Norfolk; her sister, Barbara S. Inman and her husband John of Hampton; her brother, Edwin Causey Shriver Jr. and his wife Marjorie of Webster, N.Y.; and two grandsons, Michael D. and Taylor E. Ball of Philadelphia. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, in the Norfolk chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. with the Rev. Bill McClung officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
