The lesson I hope that you will all take from my Omi is that she thought everything in life was beautiful and she enjoyed everything life had to offer.

We had the pleasure of meeting Edith a few years ago at Thanksgiving time in Phoenix, Arizona. She was a true delight and we wish we had known her better. She has blessed us with our very best friends, her son Bill and his wife Cathy. If the measure of a mother can be found in the character and caring nature of her children, then Edith stands tall on the mountain top. She leaves a vital legacy. Our hearts go out to all of you in your great loss. And Emily, we hope someday to meet you.
With our love,

Dear Mark, Ellen and Erin and Bill,
My brother Bill pointed me to your mother's obituary in the Virginian Pilot. I'm so sorry to hear that she is gone, even though it has been quite a few years since I've seen her. I have only the fondest memories of her gracious warmth and hospitality in the years when we were all growing up in Virginia Beach. Big hugs from the West Coast.
