I have known Ms. Barfield for only a short time and I have grown to love her as I do my mother. She will be truly missed by her family and friends, but God called her home on the same day that I was born. He wanted me to remember her always and I will....Gonna miss coming to Virginia to see you....

My extreme, and sincere condolences go out to this wonderful family! I grew up in Park Place area, actually on 41st street, and the Barfields, along with the Williams, were foundationally well know families. I use to work with Mother Barfield at ODU, she was at Rogers hall, and I was at Gresham. I also married one of the girls on 28th street, Kathy Rogers...and that was 37 years ago.
I pray the celebration of this blessed woman's life, and the healing of the family for your lost! And I give Thanks unto God for allowing my path to cross Mother barfield's path.
