Shirley and family,
Sorry we were out of town. Jack was a really good friend. We had many great times together, as neighbors at Gtmo and Norfolk. We will really miss Jack's great humor. He was a lot of fun.

We will miss Mr. Guntz, he was a great guy. It was a great, and fitting, memorial service that was held for him last week. We always looked forward to seeing him and Mrs. Guntz at our yearly Christmas parties, and at other gatherings at Jack and Cathy's house. I have long memories of him going back to very early elementary school, when I first got to know their family. I have to reckon that Jesus needed someone for a golf foursome, so he summoned Mr. Guntz! My money's on Mr. Guntz having the best score there! We will keep his family in our prayers..

Dear Shirley & Family, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I only remember meeting your Dad when we had a great week in Cocoa Beach several years ago. I know this is a rough time for you all but also know you are a close family and have many wonderful memories that will live forever. God Bless you all .....

Uncle Jack was a such a fun uncle.
As a child my parents would take their family of 5 in the middle of the night to drive 5 hours to Virgina Beach. My Aunt Shirley & Uncle Jack welcomed us fully. As an adult now, I can really appriciate how they opened their home to my parents with 3 young children. We would spend our Easter Vacations what seemed like every year at Aunt Shirl & Uncle Jacks home. Uncle Jack was truely one of a kind. He loved his family and their sports. From his own children to grandchildren and even his nieces/nephew's children. When Aunt Shirl & Uncle Jack were in NJ one of their activies was to go to one or two sports games of their Great-Neices. And, he enjoyed it, really enjoyed it!
There was never a day he didn't have one of his original jokes. He loved those jokes & to tell stories. He always had one and always with a funny ending. I am so very fortunite he was part of my life and part of my family. He was truly the very best Uncle.
He will be missed by so many.

Growing up with Mr. Guntz as my neighbor was like being a kid in a candy store. He always had us cracking up even when we made him mad which was very seldom, it took alot to make him stop smiling and laughing, it took something really big like a tree rolled in toilet paper in his front yard. Mr Guntz always had a smile on his face and a story to tell, he was a TRUE comedian. He will be greatly missed and remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The Washington Family gives their deepest condolences to the Guntz Family. We had many could times with Uncle Jack playing pinochle and getting golfing tips. He was a good friend and an even better role model. Uncle Jack always had a good outlook on life and he always knew what to say. We will miss his friendly voice when he used to call to see how our family was doing in New Jersey.
Love always,
The Washington Family

Guntz Family, I was saddened to hear about the passing of John. I too was a Navy retiree and spent many enjoyable rounds of golf with John. He always was a great person to spend time with and always had a smile on his face. I share with your sorrow in your loss. God Speed
